Code of Conduct
All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at our conference are expected to follow JCON’s code of conduct.
Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event.
We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.
Open Environment
A supplemental goal of this Code of Conduct is to increase an open environment by encouraging people to recognize and strengthen the relationships between our actions and their effects on our community.
Positive actions are an essential counteract to the many forms of inequality and abuses of power that exists.
If you see someone who is making an extra effort to ensure our community is welcoming, friendly, and encourages all people to contribute to the fullest extent, we want to know.
Also, please don’t hesitate to also inform us if you witness any kind of unacceptable behavior. We want an environment where everyone can feel safe and express themself in the way they want, without negatively affecting the experience of other people.
Expected Behavior
- Be considerate and respectful in your actions and statements.
- Attempt collaboration before conflict.
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
- Be mindful of your surroundings and other attendees. Alert JCON staff if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct, even if they seem inconsequential.
